Rangers insert Carp, set Gimenez on paternity go away

The Texas Rangers added Mike Carp to the active 25-man roster and placed catcher Chris Gimenez on the paternity leave list prior to Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox. Carp was claimed off waivers from the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. The six-year veteran batted .198 in 42 games for the Red Sox this season and was part of their World Series-winning team last year.
